Coffee Morning

Service Families

The Department for Education introduced the Service Pupil Premium in April 2011 in recognition of the specific challenges children from service families face.

Schools which have service children can receive additional funding to help support them, particularly at times of mobility or deployment.

At Northern Schools one of the ways in which we use this funding is to provide emotional literacy support (ELSA) for individuals and groups of children, and a special ‘Forces Club’.

If you believe that you qualify as a ‘service family’, and we may not be aware, please let the school office know as this additional funding really does make a difference to our children.

House Colour Day

Weds 20th December 2017: Congratulations to both Chichester and Winchester House!!  Well done on being joint winners by collecting the highest number of points this term.  Children in both of these Houses may wear team colours to school tomorrow as a reward.  Anybody not being in a winning House should still wear their uniform.

Parent Governor Ballot

The results are in!  Following our count, Mr Symes has been elected as the new parent governor.  Due to also showing a strong skill set, Mrs Kyriacou and Mrs Zealand have also been co-opted to the Governing Body.  We are delighted to welcome all 3 parents on to our Governing Body team.

Parent Champions Wanted

Could you be a parent champion?  We are looking to recruit parents who would be willing to help answer questions and to give informal advice to fellow parents, either by a chat in the playground/at the gate or via email.  You wouldn’t be expected to know everything, just to act as another link between the school and home.  We know that sometimes it is easier to speak to other parents for advice rather coming in to school.

Does this sound interesting to you? If you would like further information, please speak either to Miss Walters or Miss Cripps.
